I'm fairly sure the Rancho part numbers are in one of the application guides found at http://www.gorancho.com/products/applications.stm. I'm not sure of the numbers myself as I don't run them.. but RS9012 rings a bell for some reason..

size of the lift doesnt matter but you have to know the closed and open lengths you need before finding what shock to use.
in my 7 inch lift i used rancho 9014 in the front and 9012 in the rear.
the 9014's [ or now called 99014] will probably be ok for the front but the 9012 will be too long and the spring will fall out.
you could try 99005 or 99010 or 99112 for the rear if you get the right bushes.
tell them what they are for when you order them as you can get different bushes to modify them to suit.

for the right bushes [3/4] you can try 99274 for the rear and 99207 [1/2]for the front but they may be a bit short.

For my 6 lift I fitted some 9207's in the front and 9005's in the rear and have been pretty happy with the length of the shocks, but as Big Red stated the 9207's could be a little short in the front, but these are the only pin to pin shock around this length. You can get a pin to eye convertor and run a different shock though. The 9005's will need a different urethane bush for the upper mount to suit the nissan.

At the moment i am using 99017's in the front with eye to pin adaptors as i have an 8"lift in the front now.
in the rear i still run 99012's with different bushes to suit the 3/4 nissan mounts.
I have bolted the bottom of the rear springs down and use cones on the top mount to guide the spring back into position after it drops away at full droop.

BTW the 99014's have a 3/8" pin instead of the nissan factory's 1/2" pin but still work ok with no mods.
the 99207's have a 1/2"pin.

cheers guys for the advise im still abit unsure what length to run but the 9014`s for the front and the 9012`s for the rear might be the go.

It's a lot easier just to ring Kurt @ Auto Alliance & ask him..........altho these days..........."Rancho doesn't have a shock for that application, try these Tough Dogs!".............Has Ray made an investment in 4Ways??????

the only way to do it properly is to fit the springs then measure the distance between the shockie mounts when the spring is still secure in the seat then measure the distance between the shockie mounts when the bump stops are hitting and try and find a shock that size.
You will probably have to compromise and fit extended bump stops or something if you cant get one that does the job exactly.

OR... buy a complete kit from a reputable dealer as they should have worked it all out for you.

for the right bushes [3/4] you can try 99274 for the rear and 99207 [1/2]for the front but they may be a bit short.

I checked the Rancho app chart and it seems that the 99274 has LS47 eye mounts with sleeves on both ends with 9/16 diameter holes. Will this fit on the rear of the GQ that supposedly requires (L3) 3/4 dia eye mounts?
