hey mate - want to tell us how much you took off and how you did it? Is it a simple process and you notice any performance increase?

Got an RB30 myself, and would like to try and give it a bit more go.

Cheers
Matt

I removed all the heating element from mine ....and all the half moon aluminium thingy as well.
but then i started getting idle and hot start problems...and had a chat to my local dyno place here .....and he said to put the aluminium bit back ....and then cut it off level with the underside of gasket......and problems disappeared.
Apparently...according to him...it does not seal correctly if gone ....and some sort of leakage occurs between internal components....so the collar that is left after cutting off rectifies this
BTW....these aluminium "baffles" or wotever they are called can just break off....I have seen one gradually disintergrate and go into a cylinder ....no damage ...but the balled up bit of aluminium hit the spark plug and closed the gap...was able to be fished out thru plug hole.
Also I bought a second hand carby and manifold...and when carby was removed the baffle was gone with a jagged edge on the bit that was left ....so it had obviously busted off too.
Glad I have doctored mine now

Cheers Keith

Can anyone do a simple step by step guide on doing this mod, and should or shouldn't the whole half moon part be removed?
