Ok after reserching all forums last night on LPG and plug gaps etc etc I did some testing today on mine...
Here is what I did..
Firstly I have the TB42 .. Running Dual Fuel .. I have installed a pertronix igniter, Bosch GT40R coil with ballast resister , bosch leads and just put new NGK BP6ES spark plugs and gapped at 1.0 mm.
I set timing at approx 25 deg BTDC (about 5mm off the timing mark plate) and disconected the vacume advance and blocked the hose up.
And the results ?? Heaps friggin better .. Doesn't ping at all on LPG or petrol (running premium though) better top end and for some reason the higher revs are smother as well ?? must be something with the timing ??
My advice if your running LPG , do the same ... :punkrock:
PLEASE NOTE; This is my personal findings on my vehicle, If you disagree then thats your call but I did the work and drove it before and after. I'm not preaching just giving advice to a topic that pops up all the time. I was told that 25 deg timing was too much but the mechanic said that if it wasn't pinging then it is all good..
