Has anyone found anywhere in QLD that can make replacement window frames? I have emailed away for a quote from Windows West in WA, but I reckon freight will be a killer. It would be good to get them locally.
Thanks
Andrew

When I got mine the freight was very cheap. I can't remember how much exactly but I am sure it was less than $50.

Andrew,
I was lucky enough to get some second hand window frames for my SWB. The window seals cost me about $230ea. Not sure if the LWB ones are the same price. Try to reuse the old internal rubbers if you can. They arent cheap either. Gotta love that genuine nissan parts value. I also coated my frames with Wattyl Killrust Fishiolene from Bunnings. Time will tell if they rust out.

im replacing mine in my mk with fixed glass. 2 reasons; 1 its hard to find good 2nd hand and new is too expencive. 2 i bought a mq parts car and its got good solid glass rear windows... :)

Hey Andrew,
Can you PM the quote you got. I am in Perth and in need of the rear frames for the rear windows of my GQ wagon and it would be good to know what they quoted you in advance. A contact number for them would be good if you still have it.
Thanks

For BenGQ and anyone else who's interested, here is the reply I got from Windows West regarding price:
"The frames include the internal bailey channels but not the external
rubbers. We include a bottle of rubber restorer which will put the
moisture back into your external rubbers and bring them up like new. Any
cracks are quite simply repaired with loctite 406. We have been doing
these windows for 20 years and the only rubber we could not restore was
one idiot who cut the whole bottom lip off so the old window could
drain.
Costs are $300.00 for 2 frames plus $20.00 for rubber retorative plus
$80.00 for a box to get the windows to you in one piece [we buy the
boxes in] plus $75.00 freight plus gst on everything .
Total inc gst $522.50 landed at your door."
Nizzbits has also quoted me on the nissan product at $185 a side plus postage from Victoria roughly $30?
Nissan frames include all rubbers; windows west ones don't. So, it appears the genuine article is still the cheapest so far, although it's not 'cheap'. For anyone in Perth who doesn't need to pay postage, I think the WW ones would be good.
When I get a chance, I'm going into a windscreen and glass mob to see what it will cost to get solid tinted glass put in. It could take me a while, but I'll get back to you all when I do it.
Cheers

Thats bloody cheap, when I got a quote of Nissan they wanted $650 a side and this didn't include the rubber, so I got some alloy frames from Windows at West. No more rust problems with alloy.

from memory I was quoted $230 a side for slides, no rubber or glass. That was a while ago, I was thinkin of goin lexan windows with generic seals and a boat poly carbonate deck hatch in the roof.
