Cold starting problems

Hi everyone

Lately ive been having real trouble starting my 1989 4.2 petrol/gas in the mornings. It can take up to 15 minutes to start some mornings on petrol or gas. And turning it over for so long has burnt out the starter motor. I had it tuned bout 1000kms ago and it was good for a week or so then it has started doing this. Anyone know what could be the problem.

sounds like a problem i had with my old patrol straight fuel though my would start but wouldnt hold an idal for about 15 minutes, i would get a carburettor rebuild and it is probably the auto choke maybe, have u tried pumping the throttle a few times before starting on petrol??
