Hey guys
For you guys who run 35's what have you done to the spare wheel carrier so that the tyre doesn't break the right rear tail light when the door is opened AND so that the left door can open without catching on the tyre?
all ideas appreciated cheers.

I ran 20mm spacers on the tyre mount, it still fouled on the tail light, but you could open the door most of the way as long as you paid attention to how far you had it open...

Watch out spacing the tyre outwards, you can wreck the door due to the extra leverage of the bigger, heavier tyre being further out off the door. I used to just open the little door a bit and then put my hand in the gap to open the door, and was just careful with the light.

I got 35's too and my carrier is spaced out 30mm as well but the danger was still there of smashing the tail light.
Take the guide (flat bar looking thingy) out of the bottom hinge, drill a hole in it where you want the door to stop and knock a sellok pin (a cylindrical pin with a split along its length, same as used in many door hinges) and put it back in. A 5 or 6mm pin will do fine.
It will act as a stop for the door.
With 35's the door should still open 90 degrees without touching the tail light and allow drawers to open fully without fouling on the door.
Most 35's arent quite 35" anyway unless they are Simex ET's etc.
Cheers, sudso
