Hi all
I have developed a scraping sort of sound going around corners lately.
Was thinking it to be front wheel bearings.
Was thinking of replacing any way as they have done 150000 kms
What is the best way to remove the cones?

Doing Flinders Ranges ,Gammon up to Incaminca back to the Sunny Coast
so best to fit newies .
Will have to retension 1000kms

Thanks Greg

hammer and punch to get them out
then use old cones to fit new ones - or if able get a mandrel that is the same diameter

as above use punch and a hammer, heavy hammer is better, i did mine about 2-3weeks ago tried using the old cups to guide the new ones ones in but they started to get stuck, i used a punch but was very careful to hit the edge only. retention? they cant move, screw holds them in. all the best

Sorry to bring up a old topic.

But Cones?? Do you mean bearings??

(I'm about to do my front bearings, brought 2 bearing kits with 2 bearings in each and a seal)

Never done them before, and the manual doesnt look the best.

Any tips or rundown on how to do them??

TIA

If its making a noise when you go around corners check out the CV joints.
