It was sounding good until you wrote carby !

Seriously I haven't a clue re Aussie prices but modded vehicles - just be careful. Its easy to get lost in all the spec of nice extras, but the basics need to be good. All rust cut out / new paint job ? umm, get someone who knows about cars to have a look - it could easily be a bodge job, done for sale. Roll cage ? Sounds a bit pro to me, probably had a very hard life. Price out the extras with 2nd hand prices and take that off the cost the the vehicle. Carefully check the condition of all the extras you are paying for. If you are happy with what you are left with, its got to be a good deal (assuming you want the extras !). You could even strip it and ebay all those goodies and be in profit !

Best advice I can offer you is 1) spend a day reading this Forum 2) take someone who knows cars with you when looking. It can make the seller a little nervous when you turn up in force. Good Luck and WELCOME to the Forum.

heya guys yeah i know a fair bit about cars n stuff jus not so much about fourby's, the paint and body work was done by a well know beater in town, the owner works at a fourby shop in town as well and is a frequent customer at my work so we know him rather well, all under body bushes n control arms are about 3 months old etc etc etc lol, i need as much good gear as i can get due to fact that i am going to give this car hell playing in tanks tracks, hill climbs etc at a military training ground :D hence the reason i want a fourby cos mum wont let me drive hers lol thanks for your advice will keep it in mind, im a bit bummed about carby too but anything can be changed if you work hard enough....

"tell 'im he's dreamin!"

there's plenty of good shorties around for less than $10k, more like $6-$8k.

Agree , being a carby model would mean a pre 92 model for 15g's , even with all the extra's it would want to be immaculant

He's just after trying to recoup some money for all those extras. Walk away and keep looking. Money is very tight at the moment all around the world, so spend wisely.
