Phil have a look at milemarker winches they come in hydraulic in think there are a few dealers over your way, just get them to install it. Hydraulic winches run on pressure not volume.

PM Aksniss, he has a hydraulic winch on his wagon.
He probably has a few tips too. I remember him talking about it at Levuka earlier this year.

Hi Phil

Assuming you've got a manual, you could always pick up a Nissan PTO and graft a hydraulic pump onto that; that'd give you awesome power; that's the kind of thing that the boys who compete in Ladoga etc use - PTO (or crank-driven) hydraulics.
I've seen it done with Land Rovers before; it's just a matter of doing some homework WRT pump specs etc.
There is more to it than meets the eye, but it's a helluva setup, done right.

Have a look at this page - just found it on Outerlimits. It might help up the speed a bit. I like the bit about blowing the top of the box 40ft across the workshop !

I've got an Ox hydraulic on mine. It was easy to fit, even without the instructions (it was second hand). You will need the hoses to suit your vehicle, and they should come with it. On mine all I had to do was remove the OE hose from pump to box and put in the new hose from pump to winch, and then the new return hose from winch to box. I didn't have to change anything and it works fine, a little slow but heaps of grunt. You then need to wire in the controller.

Sorry, can't help. Mine just uses the power steering pump, so I didn't need any extra brackets.

How hot ( like you can't touch it hot ) if concern give milemarker a call. Hydraulic systems whether its winche's or other can get warm / hot depending on the service it's in. There are power steering coolers around if concerned install one of these.

hi fox shooter
its not hot so as you can't touch it but pretty hot perhaps because i'm not familiar
with hydraulic i was told today my my mile-marker dealer that it will get warm/hot but that's normal and wont or shouldn't get hotter but will keep eye on it and maybe consider a cooler.
