Gidday
Im trying to find a workshop manual for my new GU. I checked at the dealer and the genuine Nissan one is over $700 would you believe
I've also checked Gregorys website and they only have one for the 3.0ltr 2000-2002. This would probably give me the body stuff but obviously not the engine info.
Does anyone know if there is a manual (other than the genuine one) and where I may get my hands on it? Im in Sydney
Thanks for your help
Andrew

I've been told that there aren't any available at the moment.
Tho I think some one on the Yahoo site said that they got a copy of the Nissan CD's........... When I asked at Frankston Nissan about the CD's they said they couldn't do copies.

Probably because they want you to pay $700 for a manual :(

what do you want to do, a gregorys manual should give you all you need, specs settings etc. unless your planing to do your injector pump and the likes of. sorry didnt see that gregorys didnt have one for you, 4.2? depending on what you wanna know get the GQ one?

Thats what I might have to do. Get a GU 3.0Ltr for body stuff and the GQ for the engine although it wont have the intercooler gear. It seems strange that they dont have a manual for the GU 4.2 :x

If the manual on CD can actually be purchased ( :?: ) why don't we pool resources!!!
I have a mate who works for Nissan - he tracked down a second hand manual for me from a guy trading a TD42T Patrol.
The main manual is for the 98 model and has all the updates, up to the 2002 Turbo 4.2 but doesn't cover the TD42Ti - I've as yet not been able to track down the latest update.
BTW - What I have cost me $600
When I bought it (the truck) Nissan wanted $1300 for teh full manual. I've been told if I find one, just the update will be $200.
Still - I did the 40000km service myself, so its already payed for itself.

himble posted something about this in the GU section

For a company to refuse warrenty - they have to prove that something you did contributed to the fault. Since I have a long running dispute with my local Nissan dealer about crappy servicing (where I have caught them out not having done what they said they'd done AND CHARGED ME FOR  ), including two letters to Nissans head office complaining about it. I'd like to see them try
In all seriousness - I'm not a mechanic but I build rally cars in my spare time so I have a bit of experience and I have a mechanic mate who I can always call if I'm not sure about a particular job. So I'm not worried about it and at the end of the day warrenty or not - I'm doing a better job then what the 1st year apprentice at Nissan would do
Cheers,
Daniel
