GQ fitting new TPS

I really need to know what sequence there is to fitting new TPS to a 89 GQ auto LWB. After I fit it do I press the accelorator to the floor x times with ignition on or kick the dog or swear at the neighbour lol or what to do so it works properly as lockup does not work. The error code is 3 and 7 which is a TPS related problem. Lockup worked on old TPS.
I really need to get to the bottom of it soon Maybe the new TPS is faulty???
It is still under warranty. Any help would be appreciated.

Its not quite that simple. See procedure below from the manual. It could the the lockup circuit too (EC7). Don't forget that the transmission wont go into lockup till it reaches normal operating temperature (180F I think) so it will take a bit of warming up before you can test it (mine takes about 2-3km of slightly uphill driving to warm up enough for a lockup).

It is the throttle position sensor for carburetor TB42 with auto transmission. It senses the throttle's position and passes it to the auto transmission computer.

hello all,
i'm new to this forum, and its helping me the most.(the best).
unfortunately, i dont have the manual.
and my 93 tb42s keeps releasing the torque converter on the high way (new carb complete with the tps assy)
and i figured that the manual calls the tps "throttle valve switch".
so whats the "throttle valve sensor" and how do i determine when the idle contact turns from OFF to ON.

p.s is there a link that i could download the whole service manual for the tb42s

nah...I bought the whole CD on ebay for $5 plus postage. Certainly worth it.
