I am hoping to pick up a set of extra rims for my Safari and was wondering what rims from other trucks will fit mine. I have eyed up rims from a Pathfinder (AKA terrano) and they seem to look right. Also, the rims on LCs seem to look about right. Any recommendations on rims I might find to fit in Canada would be much appreciated.

I'm still waiting for my 91 LWB safari to arrive, but my importer is checking to see what type of rock crawler rims can be used to replace mine as I might want to change them out. When I hear back from him, I'll find this thread and let you know.

I do on my Patrol also. Just sold my original 15x7" rims to a guy, who's put them on a Navara. Toyota Hilux also fit. Stud pattern is pretty universal, it's just the offset that differs.

This helps a lot. Just a couple more question. How do I measure and calculate the offset and which other truck has an offset closest to the Patrol's? The truck seems to handle pretty good right now and I presume a change in offset would affect the handling a bit. Thanks for the advice. Cheers,
John

Mate, Landcruiser rims have a bigger offset than Patrols. This widens the track width, providing increased stability. In Australia we have a company named ROH, that produces 15x8" Landcruiser offset rims that retail for roughly $60-70 AUS per rim.
This is what they look like on my truck.

Thanks for the pics Iggy. I will search to see if ROH rims are sold in Canada. Other than that I will look at Rock Crawler Rims like gargoylesafari. By the way, do you know what is the max tire size on 15x8 rims with no body or suspension lift? I am hoping to do a lift in a year or two but only have the cash right now for rims and tires, as I am also doing the injectors. Cheers, John

Canuck,

Did you ever pickup new rims. I am getting close to needing new tires and am going to decide on some new rims. Maybe 16". I'm not 100% sure what the Safari/Patrol offset is but looks like it is either 0 or -10 mm.

What did you source out?

No problem getting used Cruiser rims. Try Craigslist and local 4x4 forums. Steel wagon wheel rims usually go for about $25 (15") each used and $80 (15" or 16") each from the Toyota stealerships. I use alloys (no rust problems) in the winter for my studded tires and steel rims (can take a pounding) for the rest of the year. A standard 60 series or 80 series rim fits nice. I haven't tried a 70 series rim yet and can't say if they are different or not.
