MQ airconditioner compressor & general questions

Hi all. First time forum member. My vehicle is a 85 mq patrol wagon with L28 engine. The aircon compressor is U/S unserviceable. Does any one have any idea where I can sourse a second hand one ? The system is fine its definetly the compressor. Can they be exchanged with another model ?

I have a 4 speed is there an overdrive kit to reduce rpm or can you convert to 5 speed.

Any hints on what type of rust converter is best. cancer hitting the roof area ? :roll:

Wreckers should have a pump to suit, make sure you write down the make & model number of the pump so you get the exact same unit.
Nissan used several differant pumps throughout the MQ/MK models.

You can buy aftermarked compressor to suit, will look different and has less drag than the original, just a matter of matching the mounts & hoses. Talk to a sparky or ac mechanic.
