Default Broken flare clips

Pulled my front flares off yesterday to clean out all the mud and dirt behind from the last two trips up in the high country. (Standard wide body colour flares for S4 onwards.)

Two different types of clips holding the flares to the mudguards. The two clips at the extremes on each flare are different to the other 5 in the centre, and I broke 3 of the 4...

Before I go order some replacements, does anyone have any tips on how to prevent this from happening again, or is there another clip I can use that won't snap so easily?

Got sorted with some new clips. At $1.16 a piece it's not too bad. I got a few extra.

When refitting the flares I realised you can actually access all the clips from inside the mudguard if you completely remove the black wheel arch liner, so next time I'll push them out from the inside instead of pulling on them.

From the stealers... 63848-VS70B. List price is $1.71 but I got a bit of a discount.

Normally my first option would be Gary (Nizzbits) but postage would be 5x the price of the parts so I just went to the dealer.

Default broken clips

I think you have to get the luxuty one. In that case you can avoid getting them broke.

Welcome abigailcarson73
Interesting first post this one.

That's ok. Let's start a Philippines sector here as well.
As long as you're not referring to an apparently unbreakable Luxy( Hilux ).
Surely not.

Franky.

It would appear the the paint and panel shop took the liberty of sikaflexing most of my flares back on after they broke the clips...not impressed.

Yep.
Sikaflex is the dodgy panel beaters solution.
As is liquid nails to a dodgy builder.
I hate with a passion getting someone else to do a job.
Insurance jobs are classic.
