Default Ex-Govt 2006 GU - what is the right price?

Hi all,

Having only ever owned Toyota's in the past I'm unskilled in the world of the mighty Patrol. As a wannabe Patrol owner, I'd appreciate your more experienced opinions.

I've been offered a 2006 ST auto diesel with only 88,000kms on the clock. Includes ARB bullbar and side brush bars with side steps, winch (hardly used), ARB rear draw system with cargo barrier, tow bar and vehicle is in good condition. It has some rust on the bull bar and the spot lights are cactus but easily replaced. Five new BFgoodrich A/T tyres were thrown on about 6 months ago with at least 80% tread left. It's a retiring govt vehicle (10 years as a police vehicle) but I mostly know its history and while it was certainly driven hard a few times (to be expected given its vocation), on the whole it's a solid rig that mostly only did short trips as the supervisor's vehicle and wasn't a full operational vehicle like others in the fleet. It was always serviced at the same local mechanic who has indicated that its running gear is in good nick.

Asking price is $11,000. Given its history and based on the info above, is this a reasonable price or should I look elsewhere?

Any advice to consider greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Dan

I'm assuming it's ex-Police being an ST. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If the body, mech and interior is in good nic, then $11K seems OK if it'll pass a roadworthy.

That would be a miracle, since the 4.2 never came in auto in 2006.

Grab the car mate, it's a bargain.

To give you an idea of the bargain that is, other 4.2s of that year are selling for $35k+. I personally wouldn't pay that, but $11k is basically giving it away. You'd struggle to buy a patrol regardless of motor of that year with those kms for that price.

Even so, $11k for a 2006 ZD with less than 100,000km is a good price. The coppers vehicles are serviced religiously as well.

$11k for a 10 year old Patrol with less than 100km on it is a steal.

For that price, tipping it's a 3L. Still a bargain even if it is, especially at those km's.
