Default Questions from a Canadian

Hello all,

So I live in Canada and I want a Patrol..
Specifically it will have to be 15 years old. But I want the GU/Y61? Is that correct?
Also want the 4.2 in it.

Now where could i find one with ease of shipping to Canada?
Anyone want to sell theirs?
Has anyone done this yet?
Can someone point me in the right direction to start finding them?
What are things i should look for?
Any issues with this age? motor? model?

School me please!

Thanks!

GU started in 1999, pretty sure??
15 years old (why?) makes it a 2001 so yes,definately a GU
TD4.2 motor went until 2006 I think. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

As to where you you find one in Canada, goodness only knows. There are a few canadians on here so perhaps one of them can point you in the right direction.

Good luck!

Yes 1999, 4.2/2.8/4.5
Yes 4.2 disappeared from Australia in 2006 but was still available in PNG up until at least 2012 (but the ones I saw up there were normally aspirated) and In Africa to around the same or possibly longer.

It is all about BUDGET.
You can have anything you want, if you have inexhaustible funds, right?
So, start off mabey, with a dollar figure in mind.
Then we can point you in a direction that suits.
I Know a few fellas in Canada with Nissan Y60, and Y61. Some fellas even have more than one.
So tell us how much money you want to spend, and where abouts in Canada you are.
I have heard rumors that Canada is a rather large place.
Also, have a look at the Canadian section of this forum.

Purchase price alone will be more than 20k for a 4.2 GU. Cars are a lot more expensive here in Australia unfortunately...

I have imported a few and still watch the auctions. Glad to help when I can. 20K will leave you lots of room for mods.

Good Y60s are holding their price but some of the preferred Y61 with 5 speed manual are going for silly prices.

Why do you want a Y61? or not want a Y60?
