Default What Patrol for my perfil?

Bom Dia Folks,

My name is JP - Brazilian Blood with an Aussie Spirit and I love to get a bit of a breeze in my face as much as I can.

I am a Patrol enthusiastic and I am about to buy my first one in Australia and I would like to ask the community if someone could advise me between 2 models
I am interested under my ballpark.

I am a Photographer, so sometimes I carry quite a lot equipment (not that much actually) + occasionally family gear when they want to go for a ride on the bush.
Also prefer to have a big Tent (as Photo Studio Base/Shelter) with me rather to tow a big caravan. Probably would tow a camper trail if
necessary one day. Less is more!
I am not a professional 4WD driver and don't expect to be hardcore either (as much I have respect for the legends) but would like to be able to cross the line when time demands to pursuit "The Shot".

I am not sure if it is right to paste links of other Business here (Sorry Administrator if not), but below are 2 models that I am looking for.

Can someone advise what one should I get? - all them are under my budget up to 24-25k.

1. 2002 Nissan Patrol ST Plus GU III Manual 4x4 MY02
2002 Nissan Patrol ST Plus GU III Manual 4x4 MY02 (older 2002 but a bit more pimped and it seems in flawless conditions)

2. 2006 Nissan Patrol DX GU IV Manual 4x4 MY05
2006 Nissan Patrol DX GU IV Manual 4x4 MY05
Looks in good condition, simple, although 2006.

3. 2006 Nissan Patrol ST GU IV Manual 4x4 MY05
2006 Nissan Patrol ST GU IV Manual 4x4 MY05
Looks in good condition, simple, although 2006.

4. 2003 Nissan Patrol ST GU III Manual 4x4 MY03
2003 Nissan Patrol ST GU III Manual 4x4 MY03
Good option? Cheaper 2003?

5. 2007 Nissan Patrol ST GU 5 Manual 4x4 MY07
2007 Nissan Patrol ST GU 5 Manual 4x4 MY07
Good conditions!

2005 Nissan Patrol ST GU IV Manual 4x4 MY05
2005 Nissan Patrol ST GU IV Manual 4x4 MY05
Good one too.

Thanks very much everyone in advance and I hope some day I will be very helpful in the community like you guys will!

All the best,
JP

Welcome JP, not a normal first post but we'll let it go seeing as you are looking for advise. As you may know buying a second hand vehicle is a bit of a lottery, we can advise on models to stay away from, but seeing as we know nothing about the real condition of the vehicles you link we could still point you at a bad one. Unfortunately even experts get caught out some times.

Have a read of the write up guide I did for prospective ZD30 buyers, it's a sticky at the top of this page.

Default Hello!

Hey Geeyoutoo,

Thanks very much for getting back to me. I did introduce myself and greeted the community. I think the message didn't go through? so I am sorry for that, I will re-do it.

I am just wondering if I could be aware of something between these 2 models:
2002 Nissan Patrol ST Plus GU III Manual 4x4 MY02
2002 Nissan Patrol ST Plus GU III Manual 4x4 MY02

2006 Nissan Patrol DX GU IV Manual 4x4 MY05

2006 Nissan Patrol DX GU IV Manual 4x4 MY05

I am tossing up between these 2 models pretty much assuming both have had good service history. For me the doubt is: Better to get the 2002 fully pimped more ks slightly expensive or a bare one 2006 cheaper low ks? Do the years matters here?

Appreciate your time and thanks for having me in the community.

Cheers,
JP

The article I wrote and suggested you read clearly says we avoid 2000-2002 models unless they are very special, if you read the article you will see why.

Looking at it I reckon it's way overpriced for a potential early grenade anyway.

Id check to make sure its got a full service history and oil has been changed atleast 10k, that was verry important to me when i was buying. And if its got a service history and hasnt had any problems well fingers crossed its a good one and continues to not have any problems.

That's exactly what I was suggesting, if he reads the article he will understand why.

He just wants an answer. Not individual effort and research of topic discussed 100 times before.

God helps those who help themselves, it takes longer for us to give a fully definitive answer than it does for him to search in an area already pointed to.

We take the time to write the answers to important questions from our experiences and fit them into articles, we point people in the right direction to read and absorb the articles, we are still being nice .

A few years ago a newbie came on and said "I don't have time to read up on this so what do I need to do to fix X?" you can imagine the reception he got.........

Yeah and sometimes its only a matter of changing the words around when doing a google search or using the search bar above to find what u need.
I try searching and reading up for around a hour or so and if i cant find what i want i resort to posting a thread.
But all good mate stay clear of that 2002 model haha
