Default Camper trailer lighting

Hi all

Looking to setup some led lighting for my softfloor GIC, already sorted out battery etc.

What setups are you guys running? Basically want to light up inside the tent and under the awning for cooking etc

I have an early Korrs kit - four 50cm lightbars and all required wiring, housed in 90mm stormwater pipe with one end sealed and the other with a screw-off cap. Easy to carry, easy to set up, works a treat.

The newer Korrs stuff can be switched between white and orange, orange apparently doesn't attract the bugs as much.

Very happy with it, 6 years use now and works like day one.

I made my own- two strips of led lights(50-50 or 56-30) in bright white, stuck to alloy
angle and enclosed in clear tubing. They are powered off a cig plug, or can use merit, and I run
the rotary dimmer switch inline as well. Both have at least 5 metres cord length, but I can easily add
longer leads. I use a set of gloves holders from work to hang them where I want the light.
No the best pic, but gives you an idea;

We have 3 flexible strip led lights that we roll up and store in the camper when not in use. They just plug into the 12v sockets we have. They have dimmers which are handy when putting the kids to bed as well. We got them pretty cheap on sale. If I remember I'll go and get a pic of the brand tomorrow.

I have this set up.. It's been ok until one of my kids stood on a wire and ripped one of the ends off..
That was my fault and I just had to solder it back on no worries anyway....

Stuff the koor stuff well over priced stuff if you ask me..

Currently have two strips the same as Benno.
In the process of making a new one. Two meters long in angled channel to permanently fix to the camper.
All work "offcuts" So has only cost me $5 for a new dimmer so far.

I made my own for our old camper as well, I bought a 5m roll of 5050 led strip off ebay, cut to length, soldered wires on one end, stuck to pieces of either 10 or 12mm ally flat (same length as strip) and slid into clear tubing (Bunnings).
For the wires soldered to the strip, I used old speaker wire cut to about 3 or 4 inches long with red spade terminals on the end, I also made up a few different lengths of (3mm twin core) cable with the opposing red spade terminals on one end and a cig plug on the other.
The one attached to the roof support in the camper was hard wired in and was approx 1m long.
