Default TD42 injector & pump test?

My 88 GQ TD42 has done 455,000kms (bearly run in ) and I was wondering if there was a test that can be done to test the effeciency of the pump & injectors for producing the correct spray etc? Has anybody had this done, and what should I expect to pay?

Who would you recommend to perform such a test / work on the injectors & pump - I'm in Vic, and have easy access to Melbourne western suburbs / Geelong / Ballarat / Bachuss Marsh / Melton - who's the best down our way?

The best test of all is driving it and observing fuel consumption; starting ease and smoke emissions !

If all is fine, leave it be. A diesel shop will test the injectors no problems. You will most likely end up having to at least have them cleaned, but at those kmms a rebuilt set will probably be on the cards.

The pump, well, if its working, leave it. Ask a diesel shop and if they see you as gullable, they'll sting you for a rebuild !
