Have my 2000-2002 GU Patrol 3.0Tdi book in front of me and it says, and has a picture of, a 118 pin ECU. So short of climbing in your truck and double checking, a bit hard considering it is behind the audio system, I'd say yours has one. I have a 2000 GU II 3.0Tdi also, and am seriously considering one too.

i think just bit the bullet and buy one.
its only 240 for the good one and you got nothing to lose.

this beats annoying the **** out of the person selling them to try and get the answer that you want as you have not accepted his first answer. (he only sells them and has sent 25 emails back)

maybe then we can move forward with this post and start seeing the performance gains of this what sounds like a fantastic product...

good luck i hope it works for you

Cmon Fazza they only ordered last week take at least that again to get here and then need time to install.

My advice is go buy oneand dont wait for others opinions or you will miss out and be spewing. Dont sit on the fence and watch life go buy

Thanks for the advise 2bo_capri !

Just really toeeee when it comes to getting stuff over the net, especially if I don't know the product and or it's application. I wonder if the software is compatible with the engine tuners and how much fine tunning they can do between the rev ranges? Is this product just an increased fueling system at a flat variable through the rev range? or more detailed tunning like the Rapids,Dtronic, Stein...ect?

I am nearly finished the re-building( engine going back in) the Patrol and want to get it right.

Has cost me a fair bit of money so far and the budget is running low, with still more unfinished bolt ons required prior to RWC.

Jace75, I get were your coming from and agree in part as I think we need to ask questions to ensure we are fully informed going forward. I'm as eager as the next person to get one... see if these things work..., given the cost, but I think way more questions need to be asked. I don't think Thomas has anything to loose, but all to gain given the price of this product & the amount of members on here. Big opportunity I think

This forum has helped me get this project to this point and it was through questions and learning from others experiences.. Priceless!

Anyway thanks all for the help!
I will watch this thread carefully.

This chip seems very much like the one from eng-tek. Unlimited tuning and all. Perhaps google them to find a little more info. But for $240 I'm willing to give it a shot. I think you will start seeing them come through in about a week or two. It take that when ordering from the states.not that its coming from the states
Cheers
Troy

The remote is only to turn it on and off. I think I may need Bennos help with install. The instruction are not real clear (to me that is) as to which plug and wires you tap into. If someone works it out can you please take photos to show how you did it.
Cheers

There no real need. I thought the remote was for adjusting. I would not bother
