No no no, get your minds out of the gutter.......The horn I am talking about is when you lock the vehicle the horn goes off, it is bloody loud, especially at night time, has anyone tried to disable it??
ACMPatrol, Our Y61 crd doesn't either and it's great but the Y62 patrols have an annoying sound every time you lock the thing.....the horn goes off, it's just one beep but still annoying none the less, especially at night time when our bedroom is close to the carport and the missus is sleeping.
Hi Notorious Benny
Can you please clarify what this does, will it then turn the horn to like a silent arm and silent disarm.
Will it also turn the door ' beep ' to silent or just the horn.
Thanks nb, greatly appreciated. Never thought to actually look in the book about this
I did look in the full service, tech manual I have downloaded but couldn't find it.
Well I just tried this and it worked a treat, now all that happens is the hazard lights flash, you can still hear the door locks locking but the alarm sound has gone....wooohhhoooooo :bananaro::bananada::iconbana: , my missus will be happy, if we ever catch up notorious_benny I will have to shout you a beer or 2 (or whatever you drink)
Converted, it turns all the door unlock and lock alarms and beeps off.
TOTALLY EXCELLENT
Thanks guys
Did exactly as you said, held both buttons down at same time for 5-10 seconds and now no more annoying beep or horn.

I love patrol 4x4 forum as everyone is so knowledgeable. I think that Nissan dealers/mechanics should start following and do some reading themselves so they too can keep up with the technology of what they sell
When first I got my Y62 it never made a sound when locking or unlocking it.
Then one day mysteriously it would chirp the horn if I used the keyfob to unlock it or make the beep if I used the button on the door handle. I am pretty sure my two year old was playing with the keyfob and he must have inadvertently held down the lock and unlock buttons to turn the chirp on.
Anyway if for some reason you want the chirp back its just a matter of repeating the process
And CRD ....... any beer thats shouted is a good beer !!
