Default How Many Patrols Have You Owned?

Just thought I'd see how many you've owned.
I'm up to number 14.
Started with an MQ in 2001. Have owned MQ, MK, GQ and GU in most engine options.
I suspect Jacket will be able to give me a run for my money.

Might not hurt to put reason for said number, like sold to upgrade/downgrade, traded in on normal car, writen off etc.

Im on my 3rd, sold the first 98 one to down grade, got the 2nd 98 one and selling that one as i have now upgraded to an 07.

First one replaced a Sierra on 33's, Stock GQ ST 1 with Diff Lock.
Sold that for a GQ2 that ended up pretty crazy, on 37's and dual lockers etc etc. I hardly ever had time for wheeling, so it saw street duty, plus I used it to tow the race car around, so I sold it for a LX470, which ended up with a Supercharger and stuff....
After the Lexus, was a TJ, which is now for sale, as I've just bought a GU3 Ti with lift and 35s and heaps of touring type stuff.
Plus I had a 2005 GU for a company car for a while...

I don't really have a good reason.
I bought the first MQ becuase I needed to slow down.
It wasn't until I bought the second MQ that I realised they were supposed to have roof gutters (the first one turned out to be 80% bog - most of the A pillars and roof were all skillfully bogged). Since I stopped driving the first one I figured I should find one with a good body and blown engine to swap running gear so I bought my first MK. It kind of went on from there - I buy them, tidy/fix and then sell and start it all again.
I'm trying to quit now - sometimes it annoys the wife.

mq wagon warm 351 clevo, cabstar 5 speed, locked, lifted 35s. wrecked it out in the end.

gq wags 350 chev straight gas,lifted,35s and perfectly straight truck, the best gq i had ever seen. rolled it.

orig purplebus( was silver before we painted it.). 4.2na diesel locked and lifted when orig bought it. went third arms, x-link,5 link fronts and an A frame rear with turbo and gu pump, water to air i/cooler etc. its Amy Whinehouse lifestyle of abuse finally caught up with its chassis and body. lots of great memories in that one.

current p/bus. lift, locked, inj 454 chev,31's,35s,37s. seats 7 or 5 and the engel. with all the creature comforts eg air con .

Interesting how some guys have had so many trucks. My next one will probably be Squalo's old one in a few years when he upgrades...... hey Murray. he doesnt need to fix the dents i am only going to paint them purple....

Started with a G60 about 26-27 years ago. had it a couple of years & then had a couple of early 2L Jackaroo's & even a Lada. Then got a 4.2 Petrol GQ which I had for 7-8 years before getting the GU just over 10 years ago.

First one I blew up the engine in the desert n Dubai (4.5 GU)
Second I blew a cylinder head after trying to drive 350km home with a damaged radiator in 50 degree heat (another GU, 4.8 this time) - expensive lesson learnt.
Third I sold to buy a Dodge for that bit bigger engine (4.8 GU SWB)......regretted it, she was a beautiful monster!!
Fourth was a 4.8 GU LWB I bought upon arrival in Australia and still loving her
Fifth is a 3.0 GQ bought as a weekend toy for breaking in the forests

I wish I could keep cars as long as some of you guys! I've owned 9 cars in 4 years, currently have 3 atm, including my 2 Patrols.

1989 GQ TB42S manual. This was my first Patrol. Since I've owned it, I've found more and more rust, rolled it, flooded it, smashed it up, and basically destroyed it. It has a leaking head gasket (water) and rocker cover gasket (oil). It's an absolute piece of sh*t, but it isn't worth enough to sell. So I'll keep it and rebuild it if it doesn't get Sri meted between now and then.

1994 GQ TB42E auto Ti. I bought this one cheap to replace the other one, but it's too nice to smash up, and I don't like autos. So I'm in the process of getting it registered and selling it for a nice profit.

started at 18 with a 88" GQ SWB tb42 , big lift , big tyres, cage , etc etc .
Sold that , then into a 98" GQ TD42 , then added turbo , bla , bla , big lift twin lockers , 36".
then down graded ( UPGRADED )to a TD42 GQ shorty . again , this one got all the fruit and was a great car . it's only just been sold a few months ago .

and tha newest addition is a GU s2 , it's got 6.0 ls2 , 4" lift ( expensive one ) Lockers , 35" and I'm tryin g to add to it whenever I can .

I have 2 & they are numbers 3 & 4 with a Cruiser in between 2 & 3...

A late 70"s SWB with a 350 petty in it which was great till the whole dash & firewall melted & went up in smoke & the battery was under drivers seat so I could not disconnect it

Straight off the factory floor in 2003 a wagon with the mighty 3lt which destroyed a turbo with 1200km on the dial & I was stuck for 4 days getting it fixed.
It ran perfectly for 3 years once lease was up I #{]^*\|_, it off in a hurry with 60 thou on the dial.

Current ----- 2001 GU Wagon with a 6.5 Chev turbo"d & cooled
---- 2006 GU DX Ute with the 4.2TD
