I'm about to put a 3-4" lift in my Patrol wagon and have read that the rear brake line can be moved to the front, and then an extended brake line put on the rear. Is this correct, and will the original rear brake line be long enough for the lift I'm considering?

Also do you recomend braided lines or the standard rubber ones. When are the braided ones recommended? Considering my original rubber brake lines have lasted 12 years now I'm not sure I need anything different.

Hi Mate,
Yes you can fit the old rear line into the front if you don't have ABS brakes.
The rear lines in the front will long enough for a 4" lift.
Braided lines are always better than rubber lines.
Rubber lines go soft & rot with age
rubber lines should be replaced every 5 to 7yrs [ although most people don't]
Cheers

very frustrating not being able to do business with authorized dealers of this forum when the buyer is outside Australia.

Hey zordos and Shane, out there is a big world that need and want to buy stuff for patrols.

I think that you have to change and you need to update yout sales policies, make agreements with operators of international credit card and agreements with international cargo operators, that requires adjustments to their web pages also.

Other guys did it and it works very good for them and they are making money.

Saludos desde Colombia

You can just use some small cable ties to hold the loose part of the hose up out of the way so it will not snag. Just have to take a really good look at where they need to sit to have full movement without rubbing or snagging.

I used small fairly weak cable ties, that way if something pulled tight it would break the cable tie before doing anything to the brake hose.
