Default TD42ti Adjust TPS

Hi guys

Since hooking up ECUTALKI notice my TPS reads about 0.00 or 0.02 at idle

Is it simple as loosening the two screws and rotating while keys are turned onto reds

With ignition switch on and engine off, the factory service manual says the TD42Ti accelerator pedal position sensor should be (when measured at ECU terminals):
0.52V fully released
4.09V fully depressed

Obviously the ecutalk is giving you a % reading and not a voltage, so it's showing 0% until you pree the pedal down

No its a voltage reading.

With engine off but ignition on I can get the value to change while I press the pedal.
Maximum is 3.89volts

Ah ok I stand corrected then. I think the only the the tps has any bearing on is pump timing on a td42ti

Thanks Vanderbro

Ill take a look again tomorrow when theres daylight

Might lift up the TPS an make sure its seated right

I read somewhere someone mentioned a nylon fitting or something.

I mean the pedal changes its value. Not when I loosen the screw and rotate it

Donít you set it by making adjustments in the ecu talk gigga.
I did mine some time ago and think I read that in the instructions?
Plus mine is in % not volts .

I did see the section where you can set different speed variations for larger tyres and yes the TPS adjustment is there too but I thought that is only for display

Also you can display percentage or Voltage for TPS

I adjust mine with a multi meter with ignition on... its finicky

there is a post with a "blade" top from the pump.. a nylon spacer which connects the pump "blade" to the TPS "blade".. then a rubber grommet which covers the three pieces.

Okay took it off. Nothing special.
Managed to get. 0.5v at idle now. But that's maximum adjustment rotation.

Went for a drive. Personally couldnt tell any difference.
Maybe will be better on fuel.

Might buy a new tps

if you where really picky... you could adjust the pump side blade to make 0.5v right in the centre, if I ever take my pump off I will.. for now I am off to one side like you.

With the automatic, slight adjustments make a huge difference in how and when the tranny shifts. once I had it off one direction of the other and the trans would shift above 3k rpm even with light throttle.. with it the other it would grab gears really early. on the td42ti I suspect it mainly adjusts timing slightly
