When your looking for something and come across things you made at Tech as an apprentice, over 55 years ago, a precision Square and a small vice, the box with the sliding sealed lid has an oil soaked felt in the bottom so things don't rust, still working..........

I'd forgotten all about them, I wonder if they still do this type of machining etc at tech, in my time the prac teachers would select a few guys in a class after observing their ability, then they would do foreign orders for other teachers and get marked on those, that was good as we would pick up some interesting projects.

Patrols...

Hi easy are they to work on?

I have an 06 TD42Ti wagon in the driveway since last week, a bit of a list of (mostly) electrical from the owner... it’s a pleasure to work on.

That’s compared to the last car here, a prado. Ok that one was a sour taste because I was largely fixing other people’s stuff ups... even the most basic stuff, like the ‘auto sparky’ who fitted his dual batteries and wired the emergency start override power supply to the MAIN battery haha! So old mate got himself stranded after he dropped a cell while camping.

Before that I had an MU-X here, great car but a pain in the arse finding space in engine bay, a cable route underneath, room in cargo area etc...

Patrols are just a pleasure.

Might go patrols-only for foreigners unless I need the cash lol

Patrols rock. All of them. And ALL the lights are positive switched, on all models. No two fkn Toyotas are the same lol

A friend sent me a youtube vid and this was linked down the side. Man I remember these guys and regularly watched the old Hollywood Roasts, this guy, Foster Brooks, played the best drunk you've ever seen, so played the vid and now have tears of laughter. Doris Day is dead and so are many of these truly great comedians.

Foster Brooks on Dean Martins Roast of Don Rickles.

Well done mate, the place isn't complete until the shed is a goer. A cheap split system for summer would cap it off nicely

Did you ever need to use that hitachi charger off 12v in the car and if so did it do the job perfectly OK? If so will be better than using inverter and the 240v version which seems a bit hit and miss, maybe my inverter is dickie. I haven't bought the one that charges off 12v until I heard your assessment

Yeah I always said that my first project in my 都hed is to rebuild that high mount winch.
A window and power is next so once there done then the winch will be next.
A aircon might be a stretch.

To be honest it痴 still in the box, after my charger started playing up and I ordered the 12v one it decided to start working again and a mate gave me one of his spares but I値l get it out next time I have a flat battery and time it.

Also I put the bonnet on today, looks good. Thanks heaps.
Just needs a lick of paint.

No rush mate, time it takes is less important than your confirmation it does a perfectly good job of charging it, just as well as 240.
