Finally installed my ProVent 200 and now I get an actual slight vacuum reading in my crank case which is good news for rings seating performance yay.

Thought the noise was being caused from the effect of the comp wheel touching the housing. Noted also at idle, I could wind the needle valve out a few turns and the noise would stop (reduced boost), once again thought turbo but after removing stock turbo and in with the Procharge stage3, fired her up and noise still there_ stuff it. ECPT installed it so to ensure warranty cover for new turbo. Was pulled down again, checked the exhaust manifold and yep the first two exhaust studs had failed / leaking gasket, then repaired (machined manifold and fitted Inconel studs) and then all good. Was very early stages of hearing the noise. I even took up a new exhaust manifold gasket for Harley just in case but from initial inspection it all seemed to be good with the exhaust manifold but we were fooled. Was a Bgrrrr.

Guess now have the new turbo and gets better as time passes, just keep playing and enjoying it....

Understand that the bearing can have a fair bit of play as when the oil pressure comes up the shaft will centralize with bearing.
Its the turbo annd it's my fault it's dead.

When I cut up the standard airbox I installed a K&N pod temporarily in it's place. The adaptor I got online was a poor fit. I tried to get a better one locally but couldnt, instead of having a a modicum of intelligence and parking the car up I drove it anyway.

Pulled the intake el off it this morning, really bad comp wheel damage.

Dunce hat goes to Marko.

Take a pic of the compwheel damage, they can have a bit of damage and still work ok, mine received damage due excess water from a badly positioned pre turbo nozzle many years ago (see below), still worked pretty good with a nice whistle . If the bearing is fine and not causing the wheel to contact the housing it should be OK for a while, was it still boosting OK?

Surprisingly it easily still makes 18PSI and doesnt seem to have contacted the housing.

Leading edges are chipped on several of the blades of the impellor and bent on others. I wouldnt dare drive it due to being out of balance.

@Marko_SJ
Can you get a visual of the bore/wheel with mirror or endoscope and move the shaft end sideways with finger, is comp whl touching housing? It will need rebuilding or replacement at some stage now. Not a good find for you mate with trip coming up.

Take your intercooler off, wash it out as may have trapped the unwanted and hope the engine has not been dusted. Guess you will fix that induction pipework.

New alternator which cost me $180 from eBay. Couple of members from here have had one in their cars for a couple of years now. So will see how it goes.

On Anzac Day i decided to fit it.. and because I'm a rough bstd this happened.

So tapped it up and went on the hunt for a replacement.. fun on a public holiday. But Facebook come to the rescue with this.

As I was going away on the weekend I needed some USB charging from the second battery...

Some areopro triple bank thing I just cut the cig lighter plug off, soldered my own switch onto it and hooked to the second battery. Might neaten it up... Might not either.

Now my new little toy.. I've had the one on the right for ages now, was good for keeping an eye on the battery, made redundant now I have an ecutalk... But anyway. The new one on the left is hard wired to the second battery, and has an inbuilt switch and some fancy fast 3.0 USB charger in built. Will see what it's like in due course.

As long as you have an intercooler to catch the bits I'd still drive it until I was ready to replace it.

Had playtime in the mud. Only managed to break a couple of clips on the wheel arch guards. Will assess patrol for any other damages. Did manage to fill the entire g box cross member with mud and also all around the g box mounts. Clean up tomorrow after work.

Default Pulled a bunch of wiring out

Lots of terminals handing off the aux battery of my ex-telstra car so decided to follow them and pull them out along with the unknown antennas. Turns out all those wires went nowhere, all cut and tucked I'm guessing before being auctioned off.

Had a lucky break and found 2 long runs, one a heavy gauge on a 20A fuse and another on a 15A fuse that I used to run to the rear of the wagon and wired into a double 12v socket. Fridge and camp lights sorted.

Also installed a Uniden UH5000 and 6.6 dBi antenna with all under bonnet wiring double insulated just to be sure.
