due to popular demand...something about a duramax?!

i will start a bit of a build thread. will see how i go with time.

she started out as a standard 05 3.0l ST with nissan bar snorkel and driving lights.
i bought her at 2 years of ages with 24000km.
stopped off at ARB and had winch side steps and cargo barrier 33's STT fitted.
had Autron cruise fitted ( not without teething problems)
a DP chip and Beau dessert 2.75 exhaust fitted.

first trip out was portland dunes.

i found an awesome test track close to home ( now blocked off)

made up sway bar extensions

fitted the incabin pollin filter... filters a bit more out than just pollin!

ARB fitted the castor bushes and outset kingpin bearings to fix the front end

punctured a few of these now. :(

nice flex. i think this was the EFS 3" lift.. which sagged back to standard height in 2 years.

auto hubs pooped themselves so i reco'ed some GQ ones.

flooded the car and nearly floated off downstream on the Macalister river. copped a bit of water thru the system.

managed to blow a rear diff with spirited driving.

note the GQ centres are some what larger in the hemisphere!

have fitted HID's headlights.. 35w and Jet6'ed the interior lights too.

had a Opposite lock rear bar fitted.. nice bit of gear!!

and some Cheesy Racing rock sliders and brush bars.. bloody good investment!
and some orginal HID Lightforce driving lights :)

a well fitted winch by ARB allows the water to drian out of the winch.. yeah rite!!

yes i do get it dirty from time to time.

demonstrating to friends that i was idling up the rocks with crawler gears 85% reduction.

made a camera mount..tried making one to fit onto the driver grab handle but had vibration problems.. this works well.
also fitted a VMS unit. love it!!

fitted 4" flexi coils and dobsons shocks at home..bastard job.. and Superior super flex arms.

which needed some minor adjustments

flexes ok :)

c'mon, i know there is a better part to this story than im getting. . . . . -pretty sure i know that track in that first few pics. . . . .

Turn right a few kays out of dandenong heading south on the dandenong-frankston road, turn right again about 1km down that road halfway before you get to that other road that goes back into dandy(hopeless with street names, ill look it up on google earth). . . . . i rescued a hilux there once.

Near Thompson's rd. . . . . . cant quite see it on google

yes mate they do flex and touch onto the guards.. but at least the side bank can then side on it rather than the guard and or the side of the car. i have used my mates winch to pull them back out after a bit of rubbing lol. will take some snaps and post them up.

Stupid iphone only lets me see some pics.

Very nice looking rig. Definetly going to run 32's instead of 285's, the look so much better.

i dont like the idea of amp's under seats either!!!!

stripped out the interior to find all the holes and plugged them...

the first broke down.. 4.8 petrol patrol

quickly followed by mine letting go at william creek :( flat tow 160 km to cober peddy.

and pulled the engine down after getting some big end bearings sent up over nite.

but alas!!! it wasnt the big ends.. it was the counter balance shaft bearings.
