37" lift tyres

Hi All, I was wondering what the minimum lift would be i could do to chuck a set of 37's under my GU patrol? Im not after the recommended just the minimum... I was thinking 3 to 4 inch suspension lift? keen to get all your idea's and experience's on this... Many Thanks, Fluff :D
