headlight

I am wondering what I can and cant upgrade to given the "plastic" headlights. The obvious cost effective upgrades are: HID: If so what wattage would not give off high heat? 35w, 55w, 75w? Xenon H4: 90/100 Has anyone had these and noticed a "melting point" on the lense????

Where can i get a cheap r/h headlight for a guIII i smashed mine and i have heard genuine are around $700.
