05/96 td42 rear main seal replacement
Hi all wanting to now what i can do does the whole housing have to be taken of or can i just pull the round seal out and tap the new one in.

There were two types. One where the seal is part of the housing and one where it is replaceable.

I normally remove the housing and reseal it too.

hopefully its the pull apart one and not single as i have the round seal all ready
