Pretty sure the 1 & 2jz came out of the supra? The 1uz came out of the soarer v8 and opposed to the suprA motors which were six cylinders non, single and twin turbo. Which one ae ya going with?

The supra came out with a 2jz in it turbo or non turbo and the 1jz came out in the soarers both twin turbos i'm goin for the 1jz soarer motor as i already have one here that has high flowed turbos with steel wheels already made 320 rwhp in a soarer

Generally you cant put an older engine into a newer vehicle - hence why no one has done it.
GQ's are different as they are of the same era as Soarers.
V8 Soarers stopped in 97.
The other option is to find a V8 out of a late model (2000) Celsior, which has the same engine and use that.

The 1jz is a 2.5 litre twin turbo straight 6 out of the soarer and some supras I think. The 1uz Fe is the v8 petty isn't it dunno how the two got mixed up. Anyway I had a 1jz in a vl years ago and it was pretty laggy went nowhere until 2500 to 3000 and then there was lots of wheelspin so I don't think it would be much good in a big heavy patrol. But it did have a microtech ecu and a poorly designed intercooler so with some better tuning it would probably be alright. Give it a go, but remember its expensive to be different.

I really don't know why you would bother fitting a 1jzgte. It really is going to be a proper ballache of a job and SERIOUSLY expensive. Having fit a 1jz into an S-body with a proper swap kit and seeing how expensive that was - it's crazy to put one into a Y61 when an RB25/26/30 will drop straight in by welding in a couple of new mounts.

Same power, same number of cylinders, pretty much the same potential. You also have the advantage of being able to use the RD28 or early RB30 sump pan which will solve additional mounting problems.

320 rwkw in a soarer
Never gunna put that to the ground in a patrol
Patrol will wieght what 2 of a soarer ???

As mentioned you need power /torque down low for a 4x4

Older engine in newer car,its do able
BUT the engine MUST comply to any emmission requirements of the newer car

Alot of early patrols running carb V8s get around this by goin straight LPG

QLD road rules are a tad of a pain
Go to QLD DOT website check what ya can and cant do
Get a few numbers for modification approval places ring them and ensure its LEGAL before spending

Would take a stab that noone makes a bell housing adaptor either which means you probably won't be able to use the Nissan gearbox or transfer and may have to change them out for Toyota gear.

An RB swap should only be considered if you have a 2.8TD or 3.0L Petrol Patrol.

Better off putting a small block V8 as a replacement for the ZD.

i'm in bundy and i havent heard of it as yet... i had a soarer a while back and love the 1jz. i would prefur that over the RB25 any day. in a patrol.... maybe a 2jz bottom end? same thing anyways. there are drift cars around using 1jz mated to r33 5 speeds which isnt too far from the 2.8 box... diff to the 3ltr tho! could it be done? yes. is it worth the dollars??? thats the question? i'm planning a rb30/25 conversion when funds allow simply because it bolts straight into the 2.8
