Questions keeping coming up about mods for the 2.8 (eg blocking egr, removing butterfly)

I went 2.5 inch straight through, made a noticeable difference in power (im guessing due to the turbo spooling up quicker)

-Boost gauge install
I've got mine installed now, along with a McNally combo boost/pyro gauge & a Turbosmart boost controller. I know I could have gone for a cheaper boost controller, but I didn't want to stuff around & wait.
I'm still fine tuning the chip & boost. Without the boost controller it would normally go to 12-13PSI but spike to 15PSI if I floored it. I've now got it going to 15PSI under normal acceleration. It still blows a cloud of black smoke when I first take off, but is OK after that. I might wind the chip back a bit more, as it is still idling just a little bit rough. Has everyone else wound theirs back to a perfectly smooth idle or left it a bit higher?
