I have 3" dobinson springs in mine with 4" tough dog 45mm adjustable shocks with heavier swaybars front and rear. Love it. Works bloody great.
My 2 cents worth.

BTW, love the shorty.

Thanks geeyoutoo.

The concerns I have is that it will be a mixed use daily driver and weekend desert car. The daily driving will be on the highway sitting on 120-140km/h so don't want too high a lift that will make the ride uncomfortable.

Loving the shorty thanks mate. As its a manual its a lot of fun to drive
I wasn't suggesting you get a 3", just saying mine is that with dobinson springs and all good.

As an update Dobinsons have come back to me and said the recommendation on their website are correct and both suppliers are recommending incorrect springs.
Interesting, thanks for feedback.

They're recommending a gear box spacer which i'll go with and see how that works. Issue with the SWB is the light rear end so will look to do gear box spacer, steering damper and castor correction initially and then look to repalce the trailing arms after.
Lol, I've never owned a SWB Patrol, but I did own magic 2.7L diesel Rocky Daihatsu, go anywhere and just as fast sideways as forward on dirt roads.
Is the SWB Patrol the same?
