Hey folks,
im new to patrols

looking at buying a 2006 ST 3ltr with 186000
full sevice history
tows a 16ft caravan once a year
electric brakes and suspension lift
not a great deal of offroading
Great condition

BUT....

I'm worried about the 3ltr zd30 talk,
is this model ok??

Hey Tom

In short, yes this one has no inherent problems. The ZD30 got a bad rep from earlier 2000-2003 engines that were prone to misbehave. By 2006, these inherent issues were fixed.

If you buy it, research NADS on here and take some extra precautions.

Hi Tom,
I have a 2005 model with 160,000kms. Had to replace the head recently is the only issue I have had. With its good service history you should be ok with this model as most problems where with the earlier years. Fit the nads, boost egt gauges and ecu talk. Will drive so much better and the ecu talk will give you accurate coolant temps as the factory gauge is a POS. With boost and egt gauges and understanding there information you shouldn't have any problems.

Yes they do have alloy heads, 4 valves per cylinder, add a glow plug and injector and not much room left in there.
