Hi guys.

I have owned my patrol for only a few months now so would like your opinion please.

Just booked my 07 3l crd patrol in for its 75,000 service at a major nissan dealer here in perth. They say that there isnt a 75,000 service and they are calling it an 80,000 service which is apparently a "major service". Whatever it is im getting it at 75,000 and then getting it serviced every 10,000 from there.

What I would like your opinion on is the price they are quoting. They are quoting $1200 for this major service. Does that sound right. I knew it would be around the $1000 mark but would just like to check with patrol4x4 first.

I had mine done in Kunnanurra in late July. $850. A bloke I spoke to camped nexted to us had an 08 CRD like mine and his cost $1200 somewhere near Sydney. Yes, it's a major service.

They have this "Fixed Price Servicing" rubbish now and I think that 1200 is the price for an 80,000.

Mine is due in a week or two as well... and like TJ said 80K service is a major one on a few CRD's not just Patrols. My Ford work ute (3.0 CRD as well) had its 80K last month and was a similar price

Just had my 40,000 which is same as the 80 I believe, haven't got the account yet but quote was $800-850 I don't have the fixed price thing.

Does the servicing have to be done by Nissan or can any qualified auto
mechanic do it?

Unless the guy has been on Nissan Training course then he is not qualified to service your Patrol. If you are going to do your own or get a outside garage to do and you have a CRD it would be best to purchase the ECU software.

CRD service is the same as DI service except the Fuel filter is about $80 more.
Difference between 80k and 40K service is no coolant at 40k. Coolant at 80 then every 40k after that.
