Hi all, we bought a 2009 GU as ex-demo with 1800 km on the clock. We have got to just over 28500 when 4th gear started crunching. Deal said nothing wrong - no gear bits in oil. They adjusted the clutch to "solve" the problem of 4th gear, which did nothing. We had no choice but to use it. Had a few other things happen as a result. Last Friday the clutch failed. Dealer contacted Nissan Australia for warranty claim. Nissan Aust said it is wear & tear and that we have abused the vehicle. They will not accept warranty claim. We had to pay to have clutch replaced. Quoted $3600 odd but as we know a Nissan spare parts manager, got the clutch replaced for $2800. Does anyone have any thoughts as to why the clutch would fail after 29000 km with absolutely NO abuse to it on our part? We have found out that some govt department got several GUs of same year and some of the clutches failed. Nissan replaced with heavier duty clutch under warranty. Why would Nissan tell us to go jump in the lake as it were? We cannot understand why Nissan Australia will not stand by their product. Nissen Australia also don't answer faxed communications either.

Any comments, thoughts & suggestions will be useful.
