hi all
iam new to this forum so any help would be great
i have to replace my front engine mounts on my patrol,been doing a fair bit of reading up about it but what iam wondering is can you get the engine up high enough to slide the new mounts in without taking the brackets off the chassis
any other tips on removal and replacement would be awsome

Hi jas78, What engine is it? That will make all the difference in my experience.
When my GU1 had a ZD30 in it, there was no way I could get the engine up high enough to remove the mounts. I think I had to disconnect the rear tailshaft from the gearbox so it would tilt back far enough. With the TD42, it's a piece of piss- just unbolt the mount from the bracket, jack the engine up, remove old mount and replace.
Only fully undo the engine mount nuts one side at time though, for safety of course...
