hey guy i know this has probably been treaded hundreds of times before, but i am going to do it again.

i have been researching patrols for a little while now, i am so keen to buy one and start modding . Through many articles and forums both here and 4wdaction. I am still unsure on which engine is the best out of the two engines. ZD30 and TD28t.

i am looking for the best turbo diesel engine. I know that the TB42 is by far the best, but fuel consumption is another biggy.

i have read and heard that the ZD30 has a reputation of blowing up prematurely.??

and as i have been going through the nissan rigs pages, i see that the 2.8td is pretty popular. is this because they are the better engine of the two or just cheaper to buy.

Any HELP from someone with a bit of knowledge and experience would be appreciated:)

thanks very much for the info guys.

i would absolutely love to drive a TB42 its a great car and i am sure it would have a great amount of power.

but because i am on a bit of a budget (under 15000) i am looking for an upgrade for my 2004 nissan xtrail to something with more power and torque and offroad capabilities. :iconbana:

So i nissan patrol rd28 sounds like the way to go, witha few mods, it makes for a very capable truck.

thanks again for your assistance guys, if anyone wants to post their two cents worth its greatly appreciated :punkrock:
I took a ZD30 auto for a test drive a few weeks ago, and took a rd28t for a test drive yesterday to see the variance in power between them both.
I would have to say for the price of the rd28(14500) and the zd30(24500) i would have to say for a little bit less power i would rather spend 10000 on some mods,
My nissan xtrail just needs to sell so that i can buy this patrol,
Thank you everyone for info, if anyone has any other info it would be greatly appreciated
