A mate has a 2003 GU that sometimes will not rev on start up and just blows smoke. Sometimes it dies altogether then will " come right" and run normally ..
Sound like a faulty shut off solenoid maybe ?
Its serviced regulary etc etc . Random problem ...

Sounds like another banjo fuel strainer problem.

Either that or an air leak in the fuel system.

is it due for injectors as thats what the shorty used to do

Just in case you havent already done so - check for a dirty/clugged air filter.

Ha, couldn't help myself. At the end of the day we all know we want 4.2's with heaps of performance mods, caus they sound tough as!!
