I have a 2006 4.8 litre Patrol. My best economy has been 7.76 klms per litre with a mix pf outer suburban and freeway running using E10 Fuel.
My most recent was was 4.03 klms per litre, similar driving conditions using 98 octane fuel.
The vehicle had around 200k's on the clock at first reading, and around 250k's on the latest.
Short of "old-age" being the reason for the difference, is it likely that there could be a more acceptable (and repairable) reason.
The vehicle is regularly serviced.
Cheers, KB

Welcome to the forum. L/100k is the most commonly used terminology here, off the top of my head the numbers you quoted equate to around 13L/100 and 25L/100, which depending on circumstances would be within the ranges I've heard of here, but if they are under the same circumstances then that is massive, the 4.8, even though a very nice and strong engine, is not noted for its great economy. Anyway I'll let the 4.8 experts get to the bottom of it.
