Hey GUEY..

Could you please share the info about the Provent lines..

For the too line I just used the factory hose and for the away I used some clear bunnings hose with an internal diameter of 12mm..

The hose need only be the size of the barbs your pushing them over I thought..

experts please??????
A couple here to read through. Mainly first link, and oldmavs first post ;)

Ive got mine insured with Shannon's 45. Low 30s.
You can have an agreed value with them. That would be north of 40. (And it doesn't matter what you paid for it. You cannot get em mint like that anymore)
Ive been so happy with them we insure everything with them, house and contents too
You qualify as a motoring enthusiast owning that.
Clearly you are a man of discerning taste when it comes to your choice of vehicle

What’s the premium and excess for Shannon’s @ $30K Warty?
By itself it is 716.32 a year. Agreed value of 31220.
Excess 650. Extra 400 excess for under 25 (who won't be driving it)
Could have paid slightly more and had less excess but I don't plan on using it
We have all 3 vehicles with them so get 10% off all the vehicles.
Not sure if that figure has the 10% applied or not sorry.

So we need 25mm hose on our Provent when fitted to a td42...

This is easy at the Provent end but how are we fitting that size hose at engine and inlet end..

Could you just run a couple of inches of factory size hose and a couple of reducers??

Seems like a hole lot of work just to fit a provent..

If it needs such a large diameter pipe then why wasnt it fitted on original breather..

I use the same reducers that Chaz used on his provent (from bunnings)..

What would stop you from using same reduces on other end and using a couple of inches of standard size pipe to factory barbs??

Surely it wont harm engine and would have to be an improvement on no provent at all..

It’s an improvement, we’re chasing negative crankcase pressure though hence the drive for larger venting off the rocker cover.
If you just use a reduction at the the rocker cover, and keep it all 25mm throughout you’ll still achieve good results. It shouldn’t be too hard to get a 25mm fabbed up at the suction end and that is important.
The main benefit from this recent debate is that now people have realized the pathetic performance of the bling shiny cans, and the detriment of not using a proper ventilation and separation system at all.

This is a bloody nice base to build off. Wish there were more 2006 td42's with 84,000kms around. Everything on the market at the moment has north of 300kms

I found these on ebay..

They unscrew and you can remove mesh..
I used my Dremmell tool to increase the internal size of the bottom ring so it could slide over the other end of tube..
I then used dremmell to cut away the old air box lid tube..fitted like a bum in a bucket.
