Hi all
Well I ahve had a couple of people ask me about how I did the conversion of mine so I thought I would put together a bit of a build thread to keep any question etc together.
Back in 2007 I started with this.

A very tired and very stock 1990 Ford Maverick that had be rebadged again as a Patrol.
Well it was a Maverick and I am a Ford person so when I decided it was V8 time I had to put a Ford motor in it.

Motor and ECU was from a NCII Fairlane Ghia I bought and wrecked out.

Used a Dellow automotive kit that all in all was crap. We only used the bellhousing and the engine rubber insulators.
Mounts were custom made.

Width wise the standard serpentine belt for a E series Falcon was too wide to fit between the chassis rails so I fitted a old model timing cover and water pump and converted everything back to V belts using a set of 351 Windsor pulleys.
Custom brackets were made to continue to use factory stock Maverick/Patrol power steer pump and air con pump.

Used a F150 4X4 reverse bowl sump and pickup as the standard E series sump is front bown and would hit on the diff.
Clutch is XR8 heavy duty pressure plate , 10" clutch plate with patrol spline (cant remember what it coem out of but it is an over the counter item) and flywheel is XR8.
Extractors are custom made , radiator is 4.2 petrol that I just made crossover adaptor pipes out of exhaust tube for.

Well after driving it around for a while I got a bit bored and decided to get my grinder and welder out again.
I have alot of pictures of it being done if anyone wants to see them but this is how it is at the moment.

Once again all engineered and approved.

Well the first interior upgrade I did (from poverty pack bench seat to ST interior) started to get somewhat uncomfortable so I got a couple of BA/BF XR seats off a mate.

One of the best changes I have ever made to the truck. Soooo comfortable.

During this time the old 5.0 started to get somewhat tired and down on comp so I took the 5.0 out of my old Fairlane and started to get it ready to swap accross. This one isnt as standard as the old one!

Cheers mate for the kind words.
Current motor is a 5.0 stock stroke Windsor.
GT40P heads.
Edelbrock Performer RPMII manifold with 75mm Ford racing throttle body.
AU 80mm MAF and 24LB injectors.
LPG that was fitted has been removed and runs a LRA long range tank. Low pressure Carter Black pump to prime a 3 litre surge tank under the truck feeding a Bosch 044 High Pressure Pump regulated through a Malpassi regulator.

Suspension is Suspension stuff 2" flexi coils in the rear with VY commodore front double balljointed sway bar link pins. Have an idea on how to convert them to disconnects quickly and easily so will be investigating that soon.
2" Suspension stuff coils in the front. This week my new ultra flexi front coils and new front and rear shocks will turn up. Looking forward to fitting it all up!

Hi Harry
EFI conversion was pretty easy. I pulled the ECU and engine bay harness out of the donor car , split the EFI system from the body harness and hooked it up with a couple of wiring diagrams.
I used a smartlock bypass hooked into my alarm and a auto trans defeat module from shiftkits.com but now you could reprogram the ECU with a J3 chip.
Fuel system is what I posted a couple above.
I reckon it cost about $6k out of pocket but I could do it cheaper now. Buying a donor is the best way. you get everything to make it run pretty much and you can sell stuff off the wreck to make a lot of the cash back.

It would be great to see pics of the chop! Also, how does the truck look in full, as opposed to a close up of the tray??? Love the rig mate!!

Cheers!
