hey guys, im going to be building a new airbox shortly when i do my new turbo and intercooler setup, ive got a couple of rough ideas drawn down on how i plan to build it, but my question is, what air filter will be a better choice, an oil K&N or an oil Unifilter

Which ever filter i use it will be roughly 300-400 long and 200 wide

cheers

K &N did not do very well at all in an independent test. (can't find it) Or as Marin often says " you might as well pour sand down your air intake".
A lot of folks use a ZD or similar box, in that way you can use a OEM filter, or one of its clones.
As this:

Or this, as supplied by MTQ:

There are also many who opt for the Donaldson, but some have questioned its airflow capabilities.

Can't comment on Unifilter.

If you are building your own airbox for that setup, go for a standard commodore panel filter. Then your filters are cheap and readily obtainable, plus you can also (if you like sand down your intake :p LOL ) use a K&N or Unifilter filter.
