This is my 93 Pontiac firebird.
We have had it since new but it's in storage in the States cause we go over so often and drive it when we are over there.
It's only got around 30 k on the clock and is mint cause it lives under a sheet most of the time.
I'll bring it across one day, we are actualy talking about doing it next year.
Anyone else got an American [muscle] car ?

Thats a muscle car? No offence but I thought it was a Ford Taurus?
What engine does it have?
Is it common in the states?

I already mentioned it's a 93 Pontiac Firebird.
To be honest I am not dead sure if it's considered a muscle car or not.
I'm not an enthusiast, I just happen to own it.
The older Firebirds are definately muscle cars, not sure if a 93 still falls into that catagory but I thought so.
Its got a large 6 in it so maybe not ?? The older ones ar eights.
Its not common but not particularly uncommon either.
It gets a lot of looks, even in the States.

ps - fk you re Ford Taurus. lol

Haha, i'll take that (Sorry) but it does look a little far away from being a true muscle car. I would consider it an American made Sports car. Is it rear wheel drive?

Yep. Rear wheel drive. You may well be right about it being considered a sports car and not a muscle car. I just had that in my head cause it's a Firebird. Can't go out to the garage and check chit out so ill have to update the post next time I'm in Florida. lol

I dont have an American car, although there are about 100 i wish i did have.

I am restoring an Australian Spec 1969 Ford Fairlane but that's hardly muscle. I like your firebird, nice for a new car, very sleek lines. My fav american cars are the slightly more obscure (Dodge Dart, Licoln Continental, Chevy Nova, Pontiac Parisienne etc.)

I love 69 fairlanes Bushy. Nice man. I'm impressed. got any pics?
Lol @ Rockcrawler posting a vid of a firebird being beaten by a minivan. Thanks for that. lol.
This is the exact model here and its not being beaten by a minivan. lol
YouTube - 1993 Pontiac Firebird Formula (LT1) doing a lil burnout

Truth is it's a bit heavy. Motor is pretty good but theres a lot of weight there to.
It probably looks better than it runs in honesty but it does look pretty slick.

We were posting at the same time Bushy. Thats sweet. Im going to bed now to have some special me time. lol
Thanks for the pic.

I have been very seriously contemplating and looking at early seventies to early eighties corvettes.

Check out Home

Ultimate American muscle car for me is a 1969 R/T Dodge Charger.
Aka Dukes of Hazard. Either 440 or the mighty Hemi!

Cheers

Too funny mates! :p A muscle car in North American standards would be something like a Beaumont or a Chevelle. Likely sporting a 396cc in a SD or SS model. Something like this...

Now while there are other cars which can have a more hp and torque, such as some of the Skylines, they are considered rice burners, not muscle cars.

If you find something you like, buy it. I have a contact here in Narre Warren that can get anything/everthing over here from the US easily and cheaply. And yes, legit too.

If you hurry up and buy a car, my winch may even come over with it. :)
