Hi just wondering if anyone here might know the age of the Greenfield Tractor 11 series?

Knowing they ran a series of the Tractor (8 through to 12 I think) range, I assume the 11 denotes the HP rating??

Yes and Benno would know most of them at least in the brisbane branch, he did 18 years of service. Ive never met a man who had such a strong appreciation for a well cut lawn.

I only did 12months there just after the GMH plant at Acacia Ridge closed down and that was enough crunt of a place to work

I know what Pat shot at about ride ons but I have to admit I have never heard anyone bag Greenfield or Cox mowers. I have seen 30 year old Greenfields and lucky to see an import last anymore than 10 years.

Perhaps not the mower for manicured lawns but what else would you use on small acreage? My FIL bought a Murray which lasted about 2 years and then big dollar Simplicity and it lasted about 5 years. Mixed turf acreage with a bit of drought thrown in.

Ride-on mowers are not the most technical of devices, well I dont think so.

If it has a briggs and stratton motor, and you have the serial number, there is a vast amount of info on the net. Which will also give you the year of manufacture.

The series 11 part denoted the 11" vertical deck travel, these were the more offroad versions with greater clearnace than the 8s.

Perhaps this one has had the bonnet swapped. The deck travel was 9 cm from top to bottom. It's that old I wonder what is still orginal.

Did you work in the tuning section with minimal ventilation?

I was actually assigned to the alternative fuels division in the scotch section, it was a little "a bit for you and a bit for me" I must admit. Anything I did after 11am I couldnt be held liable for.
