Auto box solenoid problem

I have been having intermittent problems with my 4.8L auto box.

I have the code P 1772 LC/B. About once a month ish it goes into 'limp mode' and wont shift in auto or man. Do cars get PMT?????

I guess one of the solenoids is playing up.

Before I take it in and get 'ripped off' at Nissan, I thought I'd ask if there are any simple things I can try?

As it is intermittent my hope is that it is just an electrical/earth problem. Are there any external connections to clean?

Might an TX oil change be worth a try?

TKS for any suggestions

Relearn TPS with obd or by counting seconds. unplug speed sensor and drive it. But you need to clear fault code first.

Rare fault this so do the TPS first and see if it improves the shift pattern. My 4.8 has only done this once after been sat for 3 months. I plugged in the OBD cleared the code and did throttle relearn. You can check low brake solenoid by unplugging speed sensor on the 4.8.

If you can find any obd II reader you be able to check the auto box or clear fault code. To make sure its shifting correctly go into D and the manual mode a pick gear 3. It should change up and down and once in 3rd it should hold gear even into red limiter and should pop rev limiter. I love it going down town popping the limiter all the way down course way.

Also check your timing and if going to use nissan obd II you need fresh new ATF J matic.
