G,day all the MK wagon I have just bought has auto hubs I know bugger all about them are they any good? I take it they engage as soon as the front diff starts to turn are there any special tricks to disengage like driving backwards or the like or do they just disengage as soon as the diff stops driving the axles?

I have auto hubs on my MK as well.

They save you getting out of the vehicle and locking, if you have manual hubs. My mate with a gq got stack a while back as he forgot to lock his manual hubs. He was used to his old MK with auto hubs:mrgreen:

To unlock, take the vehicle out of 4wd, then back up 5 - 10 meters.

I have seen no treads on patrol 4x4 about hubs playing up.

yeah ther ok but not good for serious play, gq are much better due to being able to lock them in with a wheel brace to make them like real locking hubs.
mq ones do not have thhis feature and i could see them breaking easily.

I dont like auto hubs when you have to rock back and forth.
They keep locking and unlocking but it takes half to a complete turn of the CV to lock or unlock and this way it's breaking stuff faster than manual locking hubs.
