My Patrol backup lights were so lame they didn't even belong on a scooter! So I mounted a VisionX LED flood light inside the cab (I could see this light getting stolen in no time...). Works extremely well, really bright (900 Lumens) and good flood. The spare tire gets a bit in the way but hardly enough to make a difference.

It's wired to a 3 way switch so that it can come on when I put the gear in reverse, it can be turned off or I can use it on it's own to set up camp (or piss off that idiot tailgating me).

I posted pics of the 1st light I had mounted (rectangular one) but it wasn't strong enough (400 Lumen) and I decided to move it to the side to use when setting up camp site without getting blinded...

Cheers,

Good Idea.

I have a couple of the flood beam Xvision 10W mounted on the back of my roofrack and another spot combo beam with a handle for a hand held spot light or camp set up light. They are incredibly bright for the power useage.

I was also very tempted to mount it on the back of my roofrack but chickened out with fear of seeing it disappear in the hands of some junky... I'm sure the illumination would be better but as it is it's not bad at all. Great lights aren't they!

I bought some powerful earth magnets that I'll glue on the back of the mounting bracket for the previous rectangular light. That way I'll be able to "hook" it wherever on the truck, should be very versatile when setting up camp or if I need extra flood light when driving trails.

Cheers!
