Hey guys, i bought a GU ute about 8 months ago now and only just getting enough cash to start doing her up! iv asked a few tire company's and they all say something different. what is the biggest mud terrain tire i can get without having to get a suspension lift? im guessing 285/75/16?

I think Jacket had 315/75R16 (35x12.5) on a stock height wagon and I had 285/70R17s on my wagon before I did a lift only rubbing was front mudguards.

Don't reckon 33s would rub at all, which muddies r u looking at?

tyrehouse.net.au has some pretty good prices, just print off a few and take em to tyre shops and see if they'll beat them.

I don't reckon you can go past BFG KM2s but having said that I just got some MT MTZs for something different. Done 65000 on the KM2s and still got a fair but left but my ex ripped the ****e out of em 4x4ing up a rocky track with 42psi in them so they're fair shagged and won't balance now.

33's or possibly 35's depends on how sagged you springs are...

If your keen on removing the front mud flaps and putting in radius arm spacers in the front you will definitely get away with 35's on it being a ute.

I just fitted up my 35's to see where they will foul with stock suspension in and they only touch the front mud flaps at full lock so it will be fine.

33's on no lift, 35's on 2in is sweet.
Um, yeah if you stay on the bitumen or sand only. The moment you climb any rock bigger than you could lift with your hands they'd rub. The recommendation for GU's is 33's on a 2" lift & minimum 4" lift for 35's unless you don't climb stuff in which case you don't need big tyre's just a chunky tread.

I've got a 4" lift with 33's (305/70's) & they rub when I go hard. The marks are on the inside of my guard to prove it.

I've got neg23 offset rims now so they prob won't rub anymore but my tyres do slightly stick out past the flares now so not 100% legal.
