hi there
i have black smoke coming from exhaust, so i assume it not burning petrol properly.
what I've done so far:
disabled the choke
adjusted tappets
replaced and adjusted points
adjusted timing
so i guess fault must be in the carburetor. can someone tell me how difficult it is to overhaul it. i mean if i will be ever able to put it back together.
or is there anything else that could be at fault?
and its TB42s GQ patrol.and the idle is bit rough i try to adjust it couple of times

Air filter, black smoke is excess fuel. you are either getting excessive fuel, lack of air or poor bang. As your idle is crap i would be thinking carby.

Wouldnt hurt to give the points inside the distributor cap a quick clean with a file.
Also invest in an extended rotor button "Performance ignition services" in VIC sells them to people all around oz.
